FULFILLED How Amazing! BUT we need your help. 17 Windows were donated by MGM Windows for a Shelter Home for Woman and Children in Gallatin through this program! But we have no one to install them. Does anyone know ANYONE that could help us to get these windows… in the house soon? We will have the windows as early as this Friday. God is so AMAZING! My contact information is Pszyman@comcast.net or 418-9377.

What is Operation Crazy Love?

OCL is an initiative to come alongside ministries and organizations in our community and abroad to demonstrate the love of Christ through service, resources and ministry opportunities. During our initial launch we plan to partner with 9 organizations and 4 ministry areas to reach the needs of people in our immediate area. The program will facilitate a resource for small groups desiring to adopt monthly service projects through an advocate program that will foster deeper more effective, joint efforts in the future of Long Hollow Baptist Church.

Is this a “women’s thing?”

No it is not. Although the initial set up of the program has relied heavily on the support of wonderful women in our church family we desire for men and young people to become involved and help shape what this ministry effort becomes.

How were organizations chosen?

The team started with a list of organizations that were already partnered with LHBC. Additional ministries were submitted. Based on our understanding of their needs and our strongest resources we received approval from LHBC leadership to move forward with partnering with these additional organizations. These ministries currently operate in our immediate area of Hendersonville and will expand as we prove that we can effectively incorporate additional ministries. An opportunity to expand this first group will be reviewed and considered for the OCL program bi-annually. The next opportunity to add organizations will be April 2010.

Where do I fit into the picture?

We have several opportunities as this program is launched for you to become involved. Whether as a ministry partner advocate, a member of the resource/allocation team, a small group care coordinator or as a serve ambassador, there are many opportunities for you to find a place that lines up with your heart and time availability.

How did we come up with Crazy Love?

The book Crazy Love by Francis Chan is one tool that God has used to bring an awakening to the church about impacting the community and world with a sacrificial love that reflects Christ’s love for us. Crazy Love is a theme you will also hear much about in the next months and possibly years at Long Hollow. It also was the theme of this years Middle School and High School camps. You too may have come to this session with a desire to be the hands, feet, and heart of Jesus. Operation Crazy Love is born out of a passion to help the LHBC family embrace “bite sized” opportunities to impact our community through service & ministry.

Why do you think this will work?

We believe that our LHBC family has a desire to reach out but can be overwhelmed by the size and scope of the need and not know how or where to start. We believe with the help of some organization, processes, and advocates we can help others discover the joy and fulfillment of reaching out and blessing those in need.
